Sizing rings remotely can be a challenge. Especially if they are wide rings, or if you are stacking a few rings together. There are a few methods, and I like to encourage people to use more than one to double check we are getting it right!
This is the ring sizing comparison chart the I use. There are many out there, and I can’t say that it’s perfect, but it does mean that at least we are reading from the same recipe.
Alternatively you can find a ring that is the right size, and providing it is perfectly round you can take a measurement of its inside diameter. But you do need to be very accurate. 1/2 a mm out makes for a different size. Bear in mind that a wide ring feels much tighter than a very slim one, as you select your fitting ring compared to the one you are choosing to buy.
If you can send me a ring so much the better, to be returned with the finished piece.
When it comes to sizing several rings to fit on one finger, it can take a bit of experimentation. Going for your usual size for a single ring will feel much too tight for a stack, particularly if its my wrap rings (below). It also depends on how you prefer your rings to feel. Personally, I like to let my fingers breathe so prefer them on the loose side. So I will go for a loose fitting for the ones at the bottom of the stack and a tighter one at the top. This might still be slightly larger that a fitting for a single ring. Or not.
